This is the spot where the Hummingbird I have named: “Loki, the Demon Hummingbird” appears when I am least prepared to take a photo of him.

For example:
1. I left the camera inside because I stepped outside to water my seedlings. He hovered next to me for about a minute just taunting me. Then perched with a buddy on the edge of the feeder and took his time drinking up.

I waited until the storm we were expecting rolled in for him to reappear.

2. I had the camera but was facing the in the direction he appeared yesterday. When I turned around, he flew off.

3. I had the camera and was prepared so he flew across the deck at Kamikaze speed. They really do make a humming sound when they are flying at that speed.

4. I was not expecting him to appear at 1:00 - so he appeared twice and hovered for just a moment in a picture perfect pose that I had no hope of actually getting.

Tonight I am going to be on the deck at 7PM with my DSLR ready for him to put in an appearance. Now I am on a quest.
